Often when you think you're at the end of something, you're at the beginning of something else. So I say to myself, "I'd like to try my hand at that over there and see what I can do." Sometimes all you need is just that one person to give you a chance and see something that you don't. So much that is spontaneous is which can be truly inspired. All that I've done that's been good and helpful has been spontaneous.
Make choices in life that come from a deep sense of who you are. The greatest gift you ever give is your honest self. The ability to give without undue thought of gain is a requirement for mutual caring relationships. I hope you are proud of yourself for the times you've said "yes", when all it meant was extra work for you and was seemingly helpful only to someone else. The connections we make in the course of a life- maybe that's what heaven is.
We need to help discover the true meaning of love. Love is generally confused with dependence. Those of us who have grown in true love know that we can love only in proportion to our capacity for independence. The thing I remember best about happy people I've met all through the years is their obvious delight in what they're doing and it seems to have very little to do with worldly success. They just love what they're doing and they love it in front of others.
Little by little we human beings are confronted with situations that give us more clues that we are not perfect. The center of the Universe is a loving heart that continues to beat and wants the best for every person. Anything we can do to help foster the intellect and spirit and emotional growth of our fellow human beings, that is our job. Life is for service. In the external scheme of things, shining moments are as brief as the twinkling of an eye, yet such twinkling are what eternity is made of- moments when human beings show themselves, the invisible imperishable good stuff.
